We invite all SCWT friends, both at home here in the UK and abroad, to join in our 60th Diamond Jubilee celebrations by participating in a Jubilee venture which is aimed to reach as many of you as possible.
To mark the SCWTC of GB's Diamond Jubilee two goodwill Ambassadors, namely Jules and Verne, have been created to carry our good wishes to all the SCWT family, both home and abroad. Each mascot has been given a formidable remit. Jules is to visit as many accommodating homes as possible around the UK whilst Verne is to circumnavigate the globe.
Both carry their own travelogue and globetrotter Verne has his own passport. It is hoped both mascots will pass through as many hands as possible with their adventures being photographed and recorded for posterity.
We need you to pass Jules and Verne forwards to complete their missions. BUT like Cinderella, they have a deadline. They MUST be back home here in the UK by October 31st 2015 as both are to be Guests of Honour at the SCWTC of GB's big birthday bash, the Gala Dinner and Dance to be held at the Royal Court Hotel, Coventry. Jules is our main raffle prize and Verne will be auctioned. Both will take place at the Gala dinner. All proceeds in aid of the Jubilee Fund which is supporting our designated charity, Support Dogs. If you require raffle tickets contact Treasurer Alison Fallon and if you want to bid for Verne please pop your sealed bid in his travel case. Gala tickets are available now, and the hotel is offering us a favourable accommodation rate.
If you wish for either mascot to visit you or are prepared to be a national co-ordinator for your country please contact Jules' and Vernes' official route planner Alison on firstname.lastname@example.org or via the club website. We simply ask you write a few words summarising their stay with you in their travelogue, sign Verne's passport, then take a photograph and send it to Alison so it can be posted here on our website and Facebook pages where you can follow both their journeys to date.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved especially idea originator Hilary Blandford and creator Liz Hill and to every one of you who are passing on our Diamond good wishes from us to you, our world wide Wheaten family.
Crufts was the starting points of their incredible journeys and both were successfully waved off amongst much excitement and razzmatazz.
